About Pastor Joel

Dr. Joel Tetreau prefers to be known as “Pastor Joel” or simply “Joel.” Joel loves the congregation he serves at Southeast Valley Baptist Church (www.sevbc.org). Joel has 17 years of pastoral experience. He has been a guest workshop lecturer at the Annual Leadership Conference held at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, PA.

Early in his ministry he taught at the Great Lakes Sunday School Conference and served as a member of the IFBAM youth committe in Southeastern Michigan. He has also served in student body leadership positions both at International Baptist College as well as Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. He has ministered in a variety of other settings, both nationally and internationally. He presently is member of the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) as well as a present member of ETS (Evangelical Theological Society).

Married to Toni Lee (Carmack) Tetreau since August 17, 1991. Joel and Toni have three sons: Jonathan, Jeremy, and Joshua. The Tetreau’s enjoy music. Toni teaches piano, leads the Patch the Pirate ministry as well as organizes the family for occasional musical specials. The boys all play instruments, sports and enjoy their teachers and friends at church and christian school. Joel loves being with his family, hiking, hunting, fishing, sports, reading, and traveling for “fun.” Joel grew up in a ministry home. His parents, Dr. Jerry and Kit Tetreau have been instrumental in leading International Baptist College for over twenty-five years.
