The Barnabas Chronicle – Winter 2017/2018

Dear Family/Friends – As I think about the last year at the Tetreau home, Southeast Valley Bible Church and at IBL (, I’m amazed at God’s grace to get us through all that took place. It was a “larger-than life” kind of year. We faced trials like everyone does but God’s grace was more than up for the journey. We are thankful for a good year at home. Toni continues to teach piano & serve at church in a variety of ways. The latest from her is a Christmas CD, “Little Drummer Boy” containing Christmas traditional piano with Toni’s special style. The boys continue to do well. Jonathan & his wife Brittany live close & continue to serve at our church. Josh our youngest also serves at SEVBC & continues in his second year of education study at ASU. Jeremy, our middle son, is finishing up his senior year of ministry study at Liberty & we are thrilled that he will soon be done with this step in his preparation for the road in front of him.

Southeast Valley Bible Church continues to grow in both leadership & the congregation. We just voted four new deacons to make a total of seven. We have had up to four leaders who served as pastors or associate pastors in the last year. We’ve enjoyed several special meetings this year as well as a variety of fantastic fellowship & outreach events. The children’s ministry has made some great gains this year including a fantastic summer long VBS. The adult & children choirs presented their annual Christmas celebrations & in the midst of all of this we continue to see real growth in the spiritual depth of our people. There is the best spirit of peace & unity within the congregation that I’ve ever seen in all my years of ministry. We are about to take on two new missionaries in the coming year. Much is happening & I am deeply thankful!

The IBL portion of each month (4 – 5 days) was stuffed with non-stop ministry this year. I was in 6 or 7 states & then 5 or 6 different countries doing IBL work. I am thankful for SEVBC’s willingness to share me with IBL as we come alongside dear ministry leaders to help them in the season of “vineyard-work” God has them in. We are at the point that we need a bit more financial support for what we do at IBL West. We’d love for a few of you to go from “friends” to “financial partners.” I’m reminded of a powerful verse in Ezekiel 22:30, “So I sought for a man among them who would … stand in the gap … but I found no one.” The context here is a bit different but we also need partners to stand in the gap to help us build & encourage pastors, missionaries, mission agencies, para-church leaders, their ministries (& their spouses) as they faithfully carry out their call. If you are willing to help us with financial support for IBL West, please let us know. My email is or Those wishing to support the work we do for IBL West, please send those gifts to our IBL HQ and central office at PO Box 338 – Fairview, NC 28730. May God richly bless you in the days ahead as you faithfully plow in your corner of our Lord’s vineyard. Come see us anytime… Straight Ahead!
