The Barnabas Chronicle – Summer 2017

Dear Family/Friends,

So it’s near the end of July and I’m at least a month late in getting this quarterly family and ministry update out. Ministry is full. Thank you for your prayers for us as we continue to serve the dear folks at Southeast Valley Bible Church and dear ministries around the globe through our efforts at IBL. The boys are not under our roof this summer so Toni and I are alone, when I’m home. She and I started the summer of with a lovely time in Boston followed by a cruise up the coast of New England and Canada. We also enjoyed some family time in Oceanside, California before the boys scattered for the summer. Toni is taking 10 weeks off of music but is already starting to gear up for the new music teaching season which starts at the beginning of August. I’m thankful for God’s grace on our family. Ministry has been steady at Southeast Valley Bible Church. We have enjoyed our summer long VBS program “Kids of Courage.” We are doing that each Sunday during our Sunday School and Children’s Church time slot. In January we will mark 19 years of ministry at SVBC. There continues to be a great sense of unity and the Lord continues to bring wonderful folks into our congregation. There is such a sweet spirit and we thank God for that. We will soon need another baptismal service and so we are thankful for God’s working. Several of our families have gone through some rough seasons of health or other challenges of late and so we are doing all we can do to walk with them by God’s grace. The congregation continues to share me with IBL about 5 days a month. Most months I’m on the road helping ministries with issues related to leadership and often issues related to crises. The summer months have seen me doing IBL ministry in LA, Chicago, Kalamazoo, and Milwaukee (to name a few).
